After unloading kayaks and gear, guides will give a basic quick start kayak lesson and guide kayakers through beautiful oyster, marsh and sand habitats. Kayakers will explore gap point, learn to cast net and identify marine creatures. | | | LEARN TO FISH FROM A KAYAK WITH CAPTAIN JEREMY Must have own rod and reel. 8:00 - 12:00 NOON $75 PER PERSON Captain Jeremy will meet you at Journeys 8:00 a.m. and teach you how to tie fishing knots, teach a bit about casting and what lures to use for redfish, speckled trout, flounder and mackerel. Jeremy will run through the size of hooks to use for what fish and how to make your own leaders and tie them on. At 9:00 you will load into van and head for the Park for 2½ hours | | EASY | Family Kayak Sunset Tour Wednesday 7:00 - 9:00pm $35 per person adult or child Learn the basics of beginning kayaking with the entire family. Kayak the salt marshes of beautiful St. George Island. View Osprey, terns, pelicans and dolphin while watching the sun fade into the Apalachicola Bay. | | MODERATE | St. Joseph Bay kayak and Snorkel Trip THURSDAY OR FRIDAY 8:00 - 4:00 pm $115/ADULT $75/child Snorkel gear, kayaks, lunch and drinks provided Load kayakers into van and ride to St. Joseph State Park for a wonderful crystal clear kayak to a sandbar. We'll anchor the kayaks and spend a few hours underwater snorkeling and identifying marine creatures in this beautiful bay. Snorkelers will find horse conchs, sea urchins, spider crabs, bay scallops, blue crabs and an occasional turtle while snokelling. Kayakers will kayak back to picnic area and eat a wonderful lunch provided for by Journeys. After a one hour break adventurers will load back on their kayaks and kayak up the peninsula to discover additional marine life in this beautiful bay. | | EASY | Bounty of the Bay Wednesday or Friday 3:00pm - 6:00pm $350 for up to FIVE persons Families will love this wonderful tour and you will arrive home with a bounty of seafood to share with family and friends. Our certified fishing captain will help you tong up a bushel of oysters, pull in blue crab traps and throw cast nets to catch the delectable mullet. Recipes will be provided and your children will learn that this delicious seafood comes from a clean and protected estuary instead of just a supermarket. | |
